Wizards Rock

10/30/2009

On Saturday, Nov. 7, Harry and the Potters will play at Alfred University.

The concert is part of a Harry Potter-themed weekend, which will also include a Quidditch Tournament and three showings of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," the latest film in the series.

Harry and the Potters call their music "Wizard Rock," which is in essence punk rock based on the adventures of the popular character. The band is comprised of two brothers who started the project in 2002 and have since played almost 500 shows across the United States and a few foreign countries. They have performed in a wide variety of venues, from rock clubs to bookstores to bowling alleys, and claim that they try to make each show a unique experience. With titles like, "Save Ginny Weasley," "This Book is So Awesome," and "Voldemort Can't Stop the Rock!" the band presents a fun and unusual style that is particularly appealing to people who grew up reading the series of novels.

Harry and the Potters will play Nov. 7 at 9 p.m. in the Knight Club. More information, musical samples, and videos are all available at http://harryandthepotters.com
